GIS Software Engineer (cod. 0502-01)

Job Description:
The candidate will participate to the project teams that implement Web GIS information systems for the Public and the Private sector, mostly using the ESRI suite either on Windows or UNIX/Linux platforms. Implementation will either be based on Microsoft .NET or JAVA application building frameworks.

Education & Skills:
- University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or relevant topic.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft .NET and JAVA programming environments and relevant programming tools and languages.
- Good knowledge of database design principles and experience in design and implementation of spatial database management systems implemented on Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
- Good knowledge of web technologies, standards and protocols as well as web development tools, environments and languages.

Desired additional skills:
Postgraduate studies in Geo-Informatics or other spatial-intelligence topic. Working experience with any of the following (or at least knowledge):
- Python
- ArcGIS Desktop 8.x, 9.x
- Spatial, 3D and Geostatistical Analyst
- ArcGIS Server 9.x
- ArcObjects
- Geoprocessing tools (model builder and scripts)
- Erdas Imagine

Particularly, applicants with working experience with ArcObjects (or knowledge) are highly desirable.
